| When The Force Isn't With You | ||
This is an autobiographical tale of Rich's three decade long pursuit of his dream of working for the legendary George Lucas and Lucasfilm, Ltd. In the end it would take 120,000 cows to open the gates of Skywalker Ranch and one very amazing stone washed up on the beach of the Sea of Cortez to reveal Rich's true quest. This uniquely wandering narrative is an inspiration to anyone who has ever considered changing their life and following a dream.
“…, the short version of the review is that
I was entertained from cover to cover - it has injected variety in to my
library, and maybe added a little bit of motivation to my life. So I am
passing on that recommendation - this book is for anyone who has ever
had a dream. Enjoy Rich's memoirs, and in doing so, let them encourage
you to do something about the pursuit of your dream, today. “ |

| Charlie's Treasures | ||
|
This is an inspired story that Richard had originally written to remind adults what is truly valuable in life. Beautifully illustrated by the renowned artists Dian DeWolf. In the midst of high pressure corporate stress, this story helps us and our children to remember the important tings in life. The story behind the book is a testament to passion and perseverance. "Upon
reading "Charlie's Treasures" -- as a story for all ages -- convincingly
confirms my earlier hunch that the author is one who is creatively
inspired, in the sense that he takes what is known and uses it in
expanded ways. |

The Chronicles of Adrian Smith: The Audit Report |
||
|
The first in the series of fictional novels written by Richard. The format of this story is unique as it follows two not too distant future characters as they relive the journal of an alien auditor who came to Earth in 1915. To unlock the mystery behind a ban placed on Earth they vow to keep a promise the dying alien made 100 years ago. The journey takes them to the depths of the Amazon, to the wonders of the San Francisco Worlds Fair, and to the trenches of the dawn of World War One. It is a love story that spans 100 years and crosses 100 light years of space. "Richard Neumann's Adrian Smith is Douglas Adams's Zaphod Bebblebrox, with a CPA qualification (Certified Public Accountant). A larger than life satirical hero, but an accountant?! After all, we in the US did invent Star Wars, Star Trek ... and Enron. I thoroughly recommend this book as a very well written story, with great dialogue, memorable characters set in an interesting period of history (San Francisco's Panama-Pacific Exhibition of 1915 and the beginning of the First World War in Europe), and a very satisfying conclusion - opening the way for more Adrian Smith Chronicles? This reader wants to see additional titles on Adrian Smith CPA's adventures at large in Richard Neumann's delightful universe. " Peter J. Kingston
